These terms are an agreement between you and SEO Toolbox (“we”, “us”). Using the site, running a tool, or creating an account means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service. How we handle personal data is set out separately in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
1. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older to create an account. A person under 18, or a person with a lawfully appointed guardian, may use the service only with verifiable consent from their parent or guardian, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. Your account
- Give an email address you control, and keep your credentials to yourself.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
- You may delete your account at any time; the erasure that follows is described in the privacy policy.
3. Acceptable use of the crawler
The crawler fetches pages from a site you name. That is a request aimed at somebody else’s server, so it carries rules:
- Crawl only a site you own, or one you have permission from its owner to test. Claiming a domain here does not prove ownership and grants you nothing against the real owner.
- Do not use the crawler, or any tool here, to overload, disrupt, probe or attack a site, nor as one leg of a denial-of-service attempt.
- Do not attempt to bypass the page, depth, frequency or rate limits, and do not automate the interface to run more than those limits allow.
- Do not use the service to break any law, to infringe intellectual property, or to collect other people’s personal data.
- Do not reverse engineer, resell or rebrand the service as your own without written permission.
Our crawler identifies itself with a fixed user agent and honours robots.txt for that agent. A site owner who wants it kept out can disallow that agent, and it will stay out.
4. What the reports mean
Every tool reports what it measured, and says so when it cannot measure something. Results are technical observations, not advice and not a guarantee. Nothing here promises a ranking, a traffic level, or any particular outcome in any search engine, and search engines change their behaviour without telling anyone. Decisions you take on the basis of a report are your own.
A report is a snapshot of a site at one moment. Third-party data reflects what the third party returned at that moment, and we do not warrant its accuracy.
5. Availability and changes
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, limit or withdraw tools, adjust limits, or take the service down for maintenance without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not promise to keep your run history forever — export anything you need to keep.
6. Ownership
The site, its tools, code, wording and design remain ours. The URLs you submit and the content of the sites you audit remain yours or their owners’. You keep your report data and may use it freely, including commercially, for sites you are entitled to audit.
7. Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the service or a third party at risk, or that we are required by law to act on. Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the three months before the claim — which, for a free tool, is nil.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including liability for fraud.
9. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms — in particular from crawling a site you were not authorised to crawl.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of competent jurisdiction in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Before filing anything, write to hello@punitvithlani.com — most issues are settled faster that way.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do, and material changes are announced by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
